Previously, the party made it to the village of Ranqs. They are on their way to Odel in the south to consult a certain Professor Raile Shaia.

From Ranqs, they head southwest across the desert to Odel Tunnel (time 1:14). There seems to be some power keeping the workers from moving through Odel Tunnel. The middle room with four rocks has one of those puzzles that requires you to take a specific sequence of steps to get through (time 1:59).

Afterwards, the party can take the stairs at the far end to finally reach the Odel region (time 2:09). Look out for Giant Oaks, which like to put the party to sleep with Drowsy.

After a trip to the southwest, they find the castle town of Odel (time 4:34). The town and castle constitute one of the largest complexes in the entire game. The folks in the house on the small island to the left of the town entrance have some info related to cooking. There is also info about the Arus Cave to the west of town, a good-sized cavern with numerous entrances.

The weapon shop in the east holds some excellent weapons (time 5:36). The Battle Axe is good for the men, and the Glass Robe is good for Lufia.

The armor shop in the west also has some excellent armor upgrades (time 5:54).

In the northwest house near the exit to the castle, there is a chest containing an Ex Potion (time 6:53). There is also a stairway leading down inside. There is information about Arus here. Unfortunately, the bridge leading to Arus is broken. Sounds like a job for Max and company!

In the northeast of this basement, a chest contains an Ex Magic (time 8:19). The cabinet contains a Miracle.

The party then heads north onto the grounds of Odel Castle (time 8:30). To the northeast, along the exterior, the middle tile of the southern flower patch contains a Speed Potion (time 8:40). The middle tile of the middle flower patch contains a Mind Potion. The middle tile of the northern flower patch contains a Great Potion.

Then, the party enters Odel Castle (time 9:50).

In the large northern room, the right-hand chest of drawers to the west contains a Hi Magic (time 10:18). The neighboring chest of drawers contains a Hi Magic, as well.

The left-hand chest of drawers to the west contains a Power Potion (time 10:29). The neighboring chest of drawers contains a Spell Potion. Good stuff!

Then, the party heads up the northeast staircase (time 11:28). This leads up to a room northeast of the ramparts. Up there, they head into the throne room (time 11:40).

In the throne room, they find the architect Piron hitting on the princess (time 11:44). Before he can fix the bridge in the Arus Cave, he needs the party to go find one of his friends at the restaurant in Lyden. Sure thing.

Back out on the ramparts, they go downstairs with the stairs in the northwest room (time 13:08). Then, they leave the main building of the castle.

In the northwest of the castle grounds, they find a stairway leading down (time 13:45). Going down the next stairway, they find themselves in Shaia Lab 2. They learn that Professor Raile is in Arus to the west. They also learn that the professor is working on a submarine, of all things! That could be useful!

There is a set of lockers in the southeast of the lab (time 14:33). The left-most one contains a Power Gourd. The middle one contains a Mind Gourd.

The southeast stairway leads down to an underground passage (time 14:40). The man here gives directions.

The warp nearby leads to an underground tunnel (time 15:03). This tunnel is in the shape of a Manji, like Level 3 in Legend of Zelda. In this tunnel, the northeast warp leads back to the castle.

North and west leads to a plateau in Arus Cave (time 15:13). There are two treasure chests here: one with a Stone Cure and one with a Yellow Ring. The stairway nearby leads out to Arus Cave's southern exit (time 15:25). The warp and this cave entrance are the only ways onto this plateau.

Back in the underground tunnel, the party goes west and south to a stairway (time 15:42). After going up the nearby stairway, the party finds themselves in Shaia Lab 1, Platina (time 15:47). It is located on the island southwest of Odel.

The party heads inside the lab (time 16:06). There, they head up the southeast stairway to a locker room (time 16:20).

Among the southeastern lockers, the second locker from the left contains a Hi Magic (time 16:23). Among the southwestern lockers, the second locker from the left contains an Ex Arrows (time 16:28). Among the northwestern lockers, the second from the left contains a Gloom Arrow (time 16:59). Among the northeastern lockers, the second from the left contains a Hi Bomb (time 17:04).
