Previously, I started the game and named my protagonist Heorot. He has explored Lockhart Castle and the neighboring town of Tannery. Now, it is time to head to Lockhart Cave to the southwest of town.

Before heading to the cave, Heorot picks up a few Torches from the tool shop (time 1:00).

Then, Heorot heads southwest to Lockhart Cave. The path is pretty evident. He finds Lockhart Cave nestled in the mountains by the southern coast (time 2:23).

Of all the mechanics in the original Dragon Warrior to emulate, why did it have to be darkness in caves? Torches are needed to see in here. Be sure to bring two or three. Fortunately, Hawkeye has maps on his website.

The stairway to B2 is in the northeast corner (time 3:20). On B2, Heorot will have to maneuver to the southwest corner.

In the southwest, there is a chest containing the Red Stone (time 5:01). This item will become important later.

Afterwards, Heorot has to backtrack out of the cave. Oh joy.

After a short trip, Heorot makes his way back out of the cave (time 8:04).

Back in the great metropolis of Tannery, Heorot picks up a Leather Shield for 90 gold (time 9:39). He now has most of the equipment available in Tannery, except for the Copper Sword.

Then, he heads to Lockhart Castle to rest and save (time 10:09).

Afterwards, he leaves the castle to head east to Uncas (time 11:16).

Along the way, Heorot reaches Level 5 (time 14:25).

Before heading to the town, he heads north to find a stairway in the midst of a poison marsh (time 15:17). It is home to a very unwelcoming old man.

Anyway, the eastern landmass is home to the village of Uncas (time 16:44). Definitely inspired by Garinham in the original game. Uncas is home to a tomb, but Magic Keys are needed to get inside. The weapons and armor shop offers Copper Swords for 180 gold and Chain Mail for 300.

After visiting town, Heorot goes out to grind a little (time 19:15). Among the Uncas area's monsters, the Magicians are the most dangerous, but they also offer the best payout. Give them a taste of their own medicine with Hurt.

After a little grinding, Heorot starts on the trip back to Lockhart Castle (time 24:58).

At Lockhart Castle, he heals up and saves (time 26:26).
