Draymond Green says he advised Festus Ezeli to settle down and find his rhythm
ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA -- Last year, Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green spent the offseason working on his game and came into training camp a bit over-eager. After a couple weeks of dealing with yelling from new head coach Steve Kerr and being more patient with his own game, he settled down and found his groove.
Green said after the season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans, in which center Festus Ezeli scored the second-most points for the Warriors (13 on 6-for-10 field goal shooting), that he advised Ezeli to settle down this training camp as well.
"It's good to see him find his rhythm. Coming into training camp, especially the first day, he was going through the same thing I went through last year," said Green.
"'I worked on this this summer, I worked on that this summer, it's a contract year, I gotta show I can do this, I gotta show I can do that,'" Green said Ezeli told him.
"I know how you feel," was Green's response to Ezeli. "Just settle down, play your game and do what you do and everything will take care of itself."
