In this chapter, Zoë awakens from her forcibly induced "dream state" in a very strange cavernous location, populated by aggressive trolls and odd-looking machines; escaping from it and emerging into the open air, she finds herself in the very same "Arcadia" that Charlie and Emma warned her about - and not just in Arcadia, but in the very same Journeyman Inn in Marcuria, still ruled by the iron hand of Benrime Salmin, where April Ryan started her own adventure years ago. Shocked, but not incapacitated, Zoë soon learns that the only person who can help her out of her predicament is a certain "Minstrum Magda", but getting access to her requires a whole lot of effort, with additional services to be provided for the local beggar and know-it-all Blind Bob for information. To make matters even more complicated, it seems like Marcuria is currently under occupation by the strange warrior race of "Azadi" - who, for some reason, harbor a particularly strong grudge against all of its magical beings, and are also busy building a huge and mysterious tower right in the center of the city...
