I've spoken on the channel before about my dream of developing my own racing video game, and due to some recent thinking which I've been doing on the nature of why racing games feel different than they used to, I also further refined some of the reasons for wanting to make ''DRiVE'' aka my dream game project.

So with that in mind let's dive back into the world of my driving game concept, which would aim to feel like a mix of Forza Motorsports 2 & 4, Gran Turismo 4 & 5, Test Drive Unlimited, and in some ways even like games such as Assetto Corsa by way of a community driven modding expansion series, including regular new cars, courses, free roaming maps recreated from older games which many of us still love, and even motorcycles. A game which returns to being fun-first, and moving away from the 'who cares what you drive as long as you win' approach of games these days.

A game which balances tuning on a per-vehicle basis rather than blanket swaps making everything feel homogenised into a soup of the same thing in different body shells. A game which puts aside the graphics race and aiming for the 'most realistic physics possible' in favour of a deliberately familiar 'old friend' feel like the 2000's games still give many of us to this day, prioritising low loading times and using the sheer power of modern consoles and PC's to run the game with ease, even with large maps and dozens of players in sessions together, or even in the same race.
