Challenges are always a tricky thing to include. Player instinct is to always do the challenge first so that they'll only have to solve a room once, but that often gives a worse experience. Having the scroll locked away behind a room clear gate is disliked because it more or less forces two clears, even if it makes the difficulty curve gentler. I'm still not sure about this one.
