Drone tactics is an interesting game with a theme based around humans being taken off planet by bugs or perhaps alien bugs back to their home planet. They explain that a long time ago humans once lived on this planet before leaving/disappearing. But a evil force is now creating mindless drones to use to conquer the planet. To counter this they need humans to help transform them into giant robots which the humans can then pilot into combat. In this review for Drone Tactics I just wanted to give a basic idea of gameplay mechanics and how it looks. This game very much reminds me of other strategy games for the DS such as Advance Wars. Personally I can't say this is as good as some of the other games I have played but it has it's finer points. Graphics are nice to look at and you get a variety of units. My biggest problem is that certain ground units just generally seem to overall perform better then the air ones. Still you get different ways to attack including physical attacks, shooting, ranged attacks and special cards which can be used to deal extra damage. A home base allows you to repair units. In between combat you can apply strategy by building new weapons to customize your units. It is clear that the developers tried hard to deliver a good plot as well since you can also have characters talk in between battles. If I rated the game I would most likely give it roughly a six or seven out of ten. While not perfect it's something that RTS fans can probably enjoy. I hope you enjoy my Drone Tactics review.
