Digital System 573 boards originally run at around 59Hz. Without a proper setup, running it on MAME will cause video stutters on a normal PC. Modifying source code to give a standard refresh rate (60Hz) will make gameplay smoother, giving an overall better gameplay experience. This affects GuitarFreaks as well.

This is just a hack and will never be on mainline MAME builds as their top priority is keeping emulation as original as possible.
