"Who Wants To Live Forever" by Dune covers the original Queen song. Released in 1996, the version combines electronic and classical elements, presenting Dune's unique style. The track includes various remixes, including Sixtysix Radio Mix, South Bound Mix, and notable Komakino and Future Breeze remixes

The song was released in multiple formats throughout Europe and Germany, including CD Maxi-Single and 12-inch vinyl. The Komakino remix is particularly praised for its vocal trance elements, combining soft and hard sounds to create a masterpiece. This cover maintains the emotional depth of the original while infusing it with Dune's characteristic electronic sound.

The song performed by DUNE sold more than 500,000 copies in Germany alone, reaching number two there.
The single also reached number three in Austria, number eight in Hungary, number nine in Switzerland, number twelve in the Netherlands, and number 59 in Sweden.
It reached number thirteen on the Eurochart Hot 100 chart in January 1997.
‘Who Wants to Live Forever’ was nominated for the 1997 Echo Awards for the most successful country dance single.

The band Dune was founded in 1995 in Germany, initiated by music producers Oliver Froning, Jens Oettrich, who was also responsible for production and composition, and Bernd Burhoff (alias Plutone).

The band's name was inspired by the science fiction film Dune, based on Frank Herbert's novel of the same title.

Dune quickly became one of the most important representatives of 90s electronic music, combining elements of dance, trance, and techno in their work. In early 1996, dancer Verena von Strenge became the band's lead vocalist.

BAND MEMBERS:

*OLIVER FRONING:* Creator of many compositions, a key figure in shaping the band's image.

*JENS OETTRICH:* Composer and producer, co-responsible for Dune's characteristic sound.

*VERENA VON STRENGE:* Band vocalist from 1995-1997, whose voice became the trademark of many hits. Later in 1999-2000, she briefly rejoined the band.

*VANESSA HÖRSTER:* Vocalist who joined the band after Verena's departure, active from 1997-2000.

*TINA LACEBAL:* Also contributed vocals

The band's debut album, simply titled "Dune," released in 1995, proved to be a huge success. Singles like "Hardcore Vibes" and "Can't Stop Raving" quickly gained popularity on European charts, becoming rave scene anthems. Through these tracks, Dune gained a reputation as one of the leaders of 90s electronic music.

In 1996, the band released another album titled "Expedicion," which continued the success of their debut and strengthened Dune's position in the international music scene.

In early 1997, Dune made a significant change in their musical style. Accompanied by the London Session Orchestra, the band produced a cover of Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever," which reached second place on German charts.

The album "Forever" was released, bringing more hits and confirming the band's ability to combine different musical genres into a coherent whole.

Dune was characterized by a unique style that combined energetic beats, melodic vocal lines, and an innovative approach to production. The band often experimented with different sounds, introducing elements of classical and experimental music into their tracks.
