The final level isn't particularly hard and can be won quite quickly, the annoying thing about it is the unit pathing on the surface as the path layout means your army will often split, and the very high density of hero parties on the surface often results in them tag-teaming your army. So you kind of have to babysit your army or be prepared to do some serious rehiring of dead creatures.

There are at least some very strong hero parties pre-placed on the map so you'll want to bring the Gazer+Gnome-o-bot combination to bear.
