This campaign mission is one which is reasonably easy to lose due to the suckassiness of undead and very limited scope to match the strength the heroes quickly attain. However provided one is selective in the fights taken (avoid fighting two parties at once) and aggressively pursues the objectives but also ensuring to kill enough heroes to level up, it is not particularly difficult to beat. Also while it's not a necessary tactic to win, you can just run past a bunch of hero parties and and break Thayla free at the end, there's no need to fight Tristan and the heroes.
