For many, Steadwick's Fall presents one of the biggest difficulty spikes in Heroes if you don't know how to optimise levelling and power spikes from early magic and low tier troops. Clear out small melee troops with mages and take mines to get as much of an eco lead as possible.

Although you can wait until Month 3 Week 3, I was able to capture the Dragon Cave dwelling and use Portal of Summoning to get my Dragons stack very quickly. If your hero isn't very strong (like my Shakti), you can wait until the end with as many troops as possible.
