I've been told that if I want to really test my scaler I should try playing Sonic 2 on it since that game loves switching resolutions like there is no tomorrow. That is absolutely hated by allot of scalers (even the newest top of the line ones) that actually recognize 240p, not so much by the ones that treat it as 480i.

VP30 with the upgrade card not only recognizes 240p but whenever the game switches to 480i the transition is seamless without a hitch either on TV or on the recording.
I only used Game Mode 1 since while Game Mode 2 should still work I've already shown in another video how it mistreats 30 hkz shadow effects in 240p games(quite frankly I ony use it for some PS2 games I dont trust it with nothing else).
This is the Sonic Jam version of the game but it should be adequate since it suffers the same issue/feature. It uses 480i in the menus and the 2 player mode and 240p in the game.

On the side note the recording has been sped up X 0.001 to reduce the jitteryness on 480i sections (they work the same way as a field rendered PS2 game). if your computer isnt fast enough to play the video without dropping frames switch to 480p.
It should be noted tho that no matter what the 2 player mode has kinda glitchy graphics(they will jitter no matter how fast your computer is), don't know if it's a problem with this version or in general.

Also Forgive my plebian like skills, I have never actually played this game before, I know heresy.
