Requirements:
Stage: The Battle at Hu Lao Gate (Original Mode) - Dong Zhuo's Forces
Allow Hua Xiong, Xu Rong, Zhang Ji, Guo Si and Li Jue to be defeated, which causes Diao Chan to defect, then defeat Diao Chan. Weapon Box appears near the ally gate near Hua Xiong's starting location, in a small cul-de-sac area off the main battle.
Other notes:
This is one weapon that requires a lot of patience and waiting around. The more enemies Dong Zhuo kills, the more you risk gaining morale for the generals you need to allow to die, so you need to hold back on killing anyone for a lot of the battle.
After a couple of minutes into the battle, Diao Chan will be ordered to the front lines. She ignores Yuan Shu and heads for the south side of Si Shui Gate, bringing her into contact with Liu Bei's forces. This is a problem since Xu Rong commonly hangs out there, so you need to keep her alive while allowing Xu Rong to be killed off.
Lu Bu will be too tough for the enemy to defeat, but he spends a good portion of the battle out of combat, joining later on when his forces are thinned out. He likes to go for Liu Bei and Gongsun Zan, then circle around the back to where Guo Si and Li Jue started, heading towards Yuan Shao that way.
If you can isolate Diao Chan from combat by defeating Liu Bei and keeping Gongsun Zan's forces away from her, she will spend a lot of time idle. However, if Gongsun Zan is defeated, she will join Hua Xiong, once again forcing some difficult combat decisions. Hua Xiong can take a while to be defeated despite his location in the battle and the number of forces in his way.
All in all, this is an odd battle that forces you to play in a different manner to how you would normally do so, but if you're able to be patient the 4th weapon will come.
