Dystopian escape room horror and dystopian use of AI tools / Lets Play in se co (demo)
8Developed The Old Men (that’s the name, not the description of the dev), this game demo looks gorgeous, has a great premise and has all the basics for a fantastic experience. Alas, it also uses AI voiceover and AI translation, so it’s entire narrative is wonky, weird, and unnervingly unemotional and not in the good sense. So sorry, the lets play ends in a very long rant why Gen AI is a good tool but should not really used to replace actual art (and skilled, creative people) because it shows, it really does.
PS: After editing, I got a very faint but still strong enough whiff of the possibility, that maybe even some of the art is AI-based which would be a huge bummer because especially the close up faces of the ghostly insect queen look … suspicious, to say the least.
