Amid the shambolic release of Battlefield 2042, EA have spoken out on their thoughts of the title.
Battlefield 2042 has been met with little praise since its release, with controversial specialists including non-binary operators, Battlefield 2042’s life has been riddled with choices players didn’t like.
Now, publisher Electronic Arts has explained that Battlefield 2042 ‘Did not meet expectations.’
EA CEO Andrew Wilson blamed the underwhelming performance on a number of factors, including the fact staff had to work from home due to the ongoing pandemic.
“Developing this game with our teams working from home for nearly two years ultimately proved to be challenging” He said.
He continued: “as more players experienced the full game, it became clear there were unanticipated performance issues that we would need to address. Some of the design choices we made with the game also did not resonate with everyone in our community.”
Overall, Battlefield 2042 has not been met with a warm reception by fans, with only 31% of the 92,000 reviews on Steam speaking positively of the title.
