Amongst the plethora of villains we saw in No Way Home, the screenwriters behind the flick have revealed that there were discussions about including Mysterio & Rhino.
They considered bringing back Paul Giamatti, who briefly portrayed the Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio.
Some early concept art showed Doctor Strange and Mysterio facing off, so this idea was obviously tossed around a fair bit.
Speaking on “The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith” podcast, Chris McKenna, screenwriter of No Way Home, explained: "Yes, there was [talk of Mysterio or Rhino returns]. Yeah, there was definitely talk, like, 'Who is the Sinister Six here?'"
Whilst we did see some teases of Mysterio and Rhino in No Way Home, when the multiverse begins to crack open at the end, that is all they were.
With the amount of villains being juggled in No Way Home, it makes sense that some were unfortunately left on the cutting room floor.
