JRPG time again! The next one I have for you is the next installment of the Mother series. Although technically the first game we got in the west, but we all know by now it's definitely not the first installment officially. Therefore I'm covering it second. After learning how this concept works in EarthBound Beginnings, Mother 2 expands it even more by creating an even bigger game with the same formula. Let's go see how the very first JRPG I ever played works out for me shall we 😅.

EarthBound is the western localization of the famous Japanese RPG game called Mother 2. Making use of the same formula as Mother, but expanding it by a lot. The same battle system, a similar story and more children who know how to use PSI 🤣. Unlike the first Mother game that never released in the west at first, the second game did get translated and released in the west under the name of EarthBound. So for us in the west this was our first introduction to this series and the things that make it so beautiful. The first moments in this game immediately show that Shigesato Itoi has a weird but very creative imagination 🥰. Containing a new cast of characters, the troubles Earth has to face in this JRPG adventure have never been greater. The world is once again falling under alien control, and a little boy from Eagleland called Ness seems to be the chosen one to take on the trouble this all causes. Venture through the world finding weird people and situations, make friends that will join your cause and find out what is going on in this interesting version of our planet Earth.
