Earth's Natural Effects & Structures in Astro Learning: H. Khezri at the OAE’s 6th Shaw-IAU Workshop
This is a talk given at the 6th Shaw-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education, organised by the IAU Office of Astronomy for Education (OAE, http//astro4edu.org).
Titel: The role of natural effects of the earth and man-made structures in learning astronomy
Today, learning astronomy becomes more interesting for children when it is combined with other sciences. After three years of activity and photographing terrestrial phenomena such as: squares, alleys and mountains around the city during sunrise and sunset, I was able to teach the movement of the sun during different seasons to my elementary school students. At first, this topic was new to them and after learning mobile photography, they were able to use newer ideas by comparing and the concept of seasons, the length of days in different days of the year, the size of their shadow in different seasons using Learn photography with a mobile phone in a scientific and attractive way.
About Hossein Khezri:
I am Hossein Khezri, the director of Astronomical Society in Bushehr, Iran. I have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and I am very interested in the method of combining different sciences for a better understanding of astronomy.
About the 6th Shaw-IAU Workshop:
The 6th Shaw-IAU Workshop took place: 12 - 15 November 2024. The Shaw-IAU workshops focus on astronomy education for primary and secondary school students and teacher training both in universities and in service. This year's workshop featured two special topics: an exploration of the first two years of the James Webb Space Telescope for the scientific topic, and the crucial aspect of evaluation in educational contexts as the non-scientific topic.
