Earthworm Jim (iOS Longplay, FULL GAME, No Commentary)
Originally developed by Shiny Entertainment and released in 1994 for the SEGA Genesis and SNES, Earthworm Jim saw numerous re-releases over the years, eventually being brought to iOS devices by Gameloft in 2009. The game is classified as a "run and gun", a mixture between a 2D platformer and side-scrolling shooter, with your main abilities being your gun and your whip (melee combat/traversal) alongside your standard moving and jumping. Each level generally ends with one or two boss battles, which often boils down to shooting them until they die with the occasional boss having some sort of gimmick to defeat it.
The most fascinating thing about this port is that Gameloft made it completely from scratch, without access to any of the original sprites, sounds or source code. Despite this, they managed to make an almost identical version of the game to what you would have found on the Genesis or SNES back in the day. In 2010, Gameloft ported this version of the game to Xbox Live Arcade under the title “Earthworm Jim HD”.
