Tang Ming was definately the hardest boss so far. I decided to start using healing items for the second phase and eventually broke through. The Skeleton Arhat was easy.

For the first phase parry counters and charge attacks worked well on Tang Ming. Once he changes up his patterns I found it better to mainly use charge attacks with some well timed follow up strikes for extra damage. Trying to parry most of his attacks in phase 2 was usually getting me killed.

After fucking around with several controllers, the Elite 2 seems to work best for me, with the trigger stops enabled (for parrying).
