This a demonstration to step up voltage from 9 volts DC to 400 volts ~ 1000 volts AC using small transformers, BD139 transistors and 555 timer. This could be a great use for your home if you need an emergency light. Especially if you are going to a remote places where there is no electricity you can just bring a couple of batteries and have a good bright lighting at night.

Weak china's battery are cheap and it's weaknesses no longer and issue with this kind of technology being around. It doesn't matter anymore because it will still light up brightly as expected.
