When The Legend of Zelda series turned 25 in 2011, the release and reception of Skyward Sword sent Nintendo's Eiji Aonuma on a vision quest to figure out how to evolve Link's adventures. That led to the hugely successful Breath of the Wild and a cadre of other games along the way, including A Link Between Worlds on 3DS, Tears of the Kingdom on Switch, and most recently, the upcoming Echoes of Wisdom that is due out in September 2024.
