Today is National Burrito Day and I waited to try this El Pollo Loco Shredded Beef Birria Burrito for this special day. The Burrito came out recently as well as Tacos and Quesadilla in the Birria version.
What makes this special is that it is served with Consome Dipping Sauce that is warm. I got the large size combo which came with the Burrito, Consome Dipping Sauce, small chips, 2 side salsas, large Horchata, spoon, and napkins in a nice box for $11.09 without tax.
Great tasting Burrito, I like all the ingredients used and the Consome Dipping Sauce is good too, but just too salty.
Instead of dipping the burrito inside the sauce, I prefer to add the sauce to the burrito. This way I can get all the ingredients from the sauce into the burrito because when dipping it only the water gets to the burrito.
If you dip it, the burrito will fall apart, and pieces will end up in the sauce which can turn to soup in a cool way.
Anway, I'm happy I tried this burrito on National Burrito Day I liked the taste of the burrito, but I found this entire combo a bit too small for me. I ended up eating million more things right after because I wasn't full at all.
I think next time I will get the Quesadilla large combo along with 2 tacos on the side plus more side dishes as well.
Just to mention that coming from a chicken place, I was surprised the beef was pretty good in taste.
