Elden: Path of the Forgotten was designed to be intentionally hard to get into. Mostly wordless, no handholding, you have to really play and figure things out for yourself. It's pretty tough, with a stamina system, you respawn where you initially spawned after a death, etc.

Combat feels a little clunky, and you're going to be doing a lot of it. I don't know if this is intentional. The ambience is great, but it can also be jarring for those that are not entirely used to the sadomasochist kind of game.

I'm currently sitting on the fence with this - not enough to outright recommend it, but not enough to recommend against it either.
