I am extremely excited for Elden Ring and what it might mean for future FromSoftware games. Elden Ring looks to be vast, dark, and beautiful, and even more dynamic than Dark Souls. We might even get a game which manages to outdo Dark Souls in terms of exploration, but this remains to be seen. In this video, I try to speculate on which challenges Elden Ring might be up against, especially considering that part of made Dark Souls a success was its carefully crafted and linear world with branching paths. If the open world of Elden Ring will manage to outdo that is unknown, but it's fun to speculate and would be extremely awesome.

I base my thoughts mainly on the newly released Elden Ring Trailer, and the words of developer FromSoftware themselves and Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin's interview on the game.
