Well, what can I say. I don't claim to be the best pilot out there, and here you can see several mistakes that led up to a blown up ship.

First, always make sure the scan completes before you start shooting at a pirate - even if the police are already shooting at him.
Second, when in trouble, have a high wake target selected - don't assume you'll be able to low wake out safely.
Third, don't panic! I had some shield cells I could have used.
Fourth, learn how the reboot/repair system works. I can't remember if I've ever even used it before.

At least I knew the golden rule, never leave the dock unless you have the credits for a rebuy!
