Basically FDev introduced "SRV killer" vehicle in a world that does not feature neither enemy SRVs to fight nor has any SRV service infrastructure (like automated repair/rearm pods/stations).

You can't drop it from ship during flyby - you have to land, battlefield is too cramped to drive trough, distances between locations on the battlefield are tiny (everything is literally jumping distance away), and once you run out of ammo there's no way to rearm except through synthesis.

I don't know what's this vehicle for except to drive with your friend when you are looting some place.
