I was getting the left eye of my Oculus Rift freezing with an image looking like 'white' noise and also occasionally both eyes blacking out for a second, this is the fix for the issue.
After checking many other videos and forums telling me to update software, re-install various software and the like I found a nasty kink along my headset cable, this was the issue, when I manually tried to flatten the kink the left unfroze and started working again.
Thanks to a video posted by Karl Gosling I managed to obtain a new cable from Oculus completely free of charge in December 2021!
Everything is working lovely again now.
