DM Notes: I designed the survival system to push the PCs into spending their resources quickly and split themselves up, mostly because I was also going to breeze over the combat since it would have been a very boring slog as the group fight one pile of zombies after another with 70+ hit points each. Doing it with dynamic descriptions and chases through the street made the whole session more interesting and gave me more time to focus on all the characters the PCs encounter, and not just the threat.
