so i fiddled around with the units camps of a mod im playing called ABSOLUTE CHAOS and well... it does what it says on the tin.... so enjoy seeing me get kicked hard

-everything you need to mod to make battles like this yourself, is located in the Data\XML folder of whatever mod or base game your trying to change, all you have to do is change the number between these and youre golden:

-larger land batttles i.e more units being able to stay on planet before the next produced is moved to space:

in "Game constants" xml find:(recommended 35\40-itll be a huge battel as it is and more then that the game will drop fps)
Max_Ground_Forces_On_Planet

-larger space battles i.e more ships simultaniously:

in "Factions" xml find:(recommended to not exceed 100-this game is old and will drop fps)
Space_Tactical_Unit_Cap
*keep in mind theres a space tactical cap for each faction seperately in the same file so youd have to change the number serveral times and not just once

-how to deploy massive amount of ground units in land invasion when you are the attacker:

go to "ground companies" xml for each faction i.e rebel\empire ect, find each Population_Value and change the number between to zero, that way you can bypass the maximum "10 deployed units cap" for most of the units.

-how to increase the ship cap in campaign mode:
in "starbases" xml, search for Additional_Population_Capacity and write any number you want in between- with each new starbase built or upgraded your starship build cap will increase by the amount you specify
