Enable LTE on iPhone
Enabling LTE on your iPhone allows you to access faster mobile data speeds, especially in areas where 5G is not yet available or supported. LTE stands for Long-Term Evolution and is commonly referred to as 4G, offering significantly improved speed and performance over 3G networks.
To activate LTE on your iPhone, start by launching the Settings app from your home screen. Then, scroll down and tap on the option labeled ‘Cellular.’ This will open your mobile network settings. If your iPhone supports dual SIM or eSIM functionality, you'll see a list of available SIM cards. Select the one you wish to use for LTE connectivity.
After selecting the appropriate SIM, tap on ‘Voice & Data.’ This section lets you choose the type of network connection your device should use. If you see options like ‘5G Auto,’ ‘5G On,’ and ‘4G,’ choose ‘4G’ to ensure your phone only connects to LTE networks. Selecting ‘5G Auto’ allows your iPhone to switch between 5G and LTE automatically based on network availability and signal strength, while choosing ‘4G’ locks your connection to LTE only.
In this same section, you might also see the option to enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE). Turning this on allows you to make high-quality voice calls over the LTE network, which can improve call clarity and allow for simultaneous voice and data use.
If you have more than one SIM card installed, repeat these steps for each line to ensure LTE is enabled on all of them. After these settings are applied, your iPhone will prioritize connecting to LTE networks for both voice and data, giving you faster speeds in supported areas.
