ENDING THE CYCLE | God Of War Playthrough - Part 27
Hey everybody! Welcome back to my God Of War playthrough, we are half way to flipping the temple be before we can we have to go through several more traps. With the waves on enemies taken care of and the chain broken it is time to head back up and get this temple flipped. With the temple upended it seems like it is finally time to go to Jotunheim but of course there is another set back. There is no crystal for it and Mimir thinks Tyr used his eyes to reflect the beam but unfortunately Mimir only has one. We ask Brok and Sindri where it might be and Brok thinks Odin hid it in the statue of Thor. The same statue that the world serpent had eaten. When we speak with the serpent he agrees to allow us to look in his belly which is the last place I thought we were going to end up in this episode. Inside is not pretty but very cool at the same time and lucky of use there is a conveniently placed chest at the end of the line and inside is the other eye. On our way out something is making the snake rumble and eventually it gets so violent we are launched out and land near the dead giant. Freya shows up to ask us what happened as the serpent collapses behind us but before we can explain the answer is revealed to us. Baldur walks up out of the water and before we know it another fight breaks out. The only difference this time is Freya is trying to stop us from hurting him the whole time. In the middle of the fight Freya traps Kratos but Atreus stands in front to protect him but this does not slow down Baldur, at least not at first. When he hits Atreus he is stuck with the piece of mistletoe Kratos used to fix Atreus' strap. The spell cast upon him is completely broken and he is now vulnerable but that doesn't stop the fight. Eventually Freya even possess' the body of the giant and tries to break up the fight. Once it is over Atreus quotes something Kratos had said to him before and Kratos listens and lets Baldur go but first he tells him to leave us alone and Freya as well. He has a talk with Freya but it does not go well as he grabs her by the throat. Kratos steps in again and when Baldur asks him why he even cares he quotes something he learned a long time ago and says he is ending the cycle. He snaps Baldurs neck and Freya is furious. With her threats feeling pretty empty she does bring up the boy not knowing and finally Atreus hears Kratos' story. With everything we need in hand and all of our threats in this game taken care of it is time to travel to Jotunheim and finish this quest.
His vengeance against the gods of Olympus far behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the lands of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive… and teach his son to do the same. As mentor and protector to a son determined to earn his respect, Kratos is faced with an unexpected opportunity to master the rage that has long defined him. Questioning the dark lineage he’s passed on to his son, he hopes to make amends for the shortcomings of his past. Set within the untamed forests, mountains, and realms of Norse lore, God of War features a distinctly new setting with its own pantheon of creatures, monsters, and gods.
