The days when the glitzy and dynamic startup culture attracted India's top talent seem to be gone. If the early campus placement hiring trends are anything to go by, more and more IIT graduates are favouring the stability of a long-running, established firm over the mind-boggling salaries that some startups were offering. In fact, manufacturing companies are now seeing strong interest among fresh IIT graduates. According to the data put out by IIT Bombay for the academic year 2022-23, over 30% of a total of 1,516 job offers were from the engineering & technology sector. So, how exactly will campus hiring trends pan out and are we staring at a paradigm shift in India's jobs picture?
