Enjoy Carlee S.'s review of the podcast Timestorm. Timestorm is a highly creative and thought out science fiction podcast. A set of twins find themselves secretly traveling through time on a mission to help their cousin spread awareness about the true history of Puerto Rico. The storyline has twists and turns that keep your undivided attention in each episode. Their journey is engaging and filled with historical facts.

Twins Benny (Claudio Venancio) and Alexa (Leilany Figueroa) are normal twelve-year-olds living in New Jersey. One day they are swept into a timestorm where they meet their long-lost cousin Horacio Mendez, voiced by Orlando Segarra. Horacio, who is unable to leave the dimension he is in, summons them into the timestorm because he needs help. Imagine their surprise when they find out Horacio, a character in a comic book, is not only real but is their cousin. He wants them to witness, find, and remember their Puerto Rican history so that it is not forgotten.

My favorite episode of the podcast is in episode one. When they first meet their cousin Horacio Mendez, it is exciting to see how Benny and Alexa react to being brought into a timestorm. Alexa is very skeptical, but Benny believes the whole story and is overly excited about being able to go somewhere where no one knows him. This causes disagreements between the two siblings about whether they should get involved and help or stay out of it. The twins Benny and Alexa are extremely easy to relate to and their relationship as brother and sister is believable. I was also impressed with the sounds in this podcast. The theme song is very catchy. The sound effects when they go into the timestorm are helpful to the listeners because it indicates when they are going travel into it. It can be a bit slow at times. However, there is enough action in other scenes to keep the listeners’ interest. It can be a bit slow at times. However, there is enough action in other scenes to keep the listeners’ interest.

The message the podcast expresses is how important teamwork is while emphasizing the importance of understanding one’s culture and history. Horacio Mendez wants people to understand the truth about Puerto Rico and its history, but he is currently stuck in the timestorm. Therefore, he needs Benny and his sister Alexa to help spread the truth. With the help of Benny and Alexa he might get a chance to spread the word and preserve Puerto Rican history. There is some bullying and natural disasters that occur and are discussed in the podcast which may require guidance for younger viewers.

I give Timestorm 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 11 to 15. Timestorm is produced by Cocotazo Media and can be found on Trax at https://www.trax.fm/timestorm. It is available now, so look for it!
