Enjoy Maica N.'s review of Family Reunion: Season 4
Enjoy Maica N.'s review of Family Reunion: Season 4. Here we are again with the beloved Mckellan family, who are getting into even more trouble than the last time. You’ll see familiar faces and new storylines, which will be music to your ears… literally. This new season of Family Reunion will have you speechless, with surprises around every corner.
Season Four of Family Reunion follows the Mckellan family as they continue striving to get out of debt. With the children getting older, a lot more happens in everyday life. Sometimes, it can even be too much to handle. But, that doesn’t stop them from living their lives spontaneously and having a blast together.
The latest season reintroduces some characters from previous seasons that audiences haven’t seen in a while. For instance, Shaka and Mazzi’s friend Elvis (Lance Alexander) return to interact with the family and create a different conversation that hasn’t been there since season two. Doing leaves less room for questioning what happened to the characters that were featured in the earlier seasons, but completely disappeared in season three. Another thing I noticed in Season Four is that they dialed back on the musical scenes. Season Three turned Family Reunion into more of a musical show than in previous seasons. That may have become overwhelming for the audience, Season Four is a lot more balanced and allows the dialogue to tell the story. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a musical interlude once in a while, which is actually one of my favorite parts of the new season. The scenes are vibrant, full of energy and colorful. Props to the art team and John Simmons the cinematographer. Season four of Family Reunion fulfills its reputation of tackling social issues. M’Dear continues to teach the kids life lessons from her experiences; such as being bullied because of racism. This factor is something that makes Family Reunion an eminent show for families.
The message of Family Reunion: Season Four is that you never know what life is going to throw at you. Whatever comes your way, you need to be prepared and try to make the best out of every situation.
I give Family Reunion: Season Four 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 18, plus adults. It is available now on Netflix. You don’t want to miss this! https://youtu.be/FHJoDNGxN6Q
