Today we have to do something important: publish a retraction video!
Yesterday we published a video about figuring out how your professions will grow if you pick various skill rewards and we screwed it up pretty royally. We have done this calculation a thousand times and never had an issue but of course the one time we publish it for our fans we got it wrong.
Always remember that we're human and we do indeed make mistakes!
We also want to thank Gdog for pointing out that we screwed it up but also for giving us a much easier, and much faster, way of getting the answer we were looking for.
How do we know Gdog was correct? We simply claimed the reward and indeed his calculation was spot on while ours was off a hair.
Remember that Entropia Universe has a RCE or real cash economy. This means that skills have real cash value. This is why each skill point is worth more than the one before it and less than the one after it. This explains why it is so hard to grow your skill points and professions the longer you play.
Knowing how hard profession growth can be using this type of a calculation to help make sure you always pick the correct reward can be key to keeping your professions growing.
Today we specifically look at if it would be better to get the 7.81 PED codex reward for alertness even though it's only 5% contribution to Evader Profession or if we should pick the 7.81 PED evade reward since the evade skill is 25% of the Evader Profession. In this case Alertness got us much much further.
Again we apologize and we strive to make out videos as informative and accurate as possible but when we do get it wrong we try and fix it as quickly as possible.
