Today StevieB explains why we will still take some amount of hits and some amount of damage even if we have very high defense skills.
Most players don't understand defense skills like Evader and Dodger. Unlike other video games defense skills work a little different in Entropia Universe as they don't reduce the amount of damage you take. They simply increase the chances of a creatures attack missing you entirely.
If you have low defense skills you will get hit a lot. If you have high defense skills you will get hit much less often. Regardless of your defense skill level when you DO get hit you will take the full damage dealt which is where Armor and Armor plates comes into the picture.
So we do we focus on defense skills? Because the more the creature misses us completely the better off we are! Having the creature miss us means NO damage, no armor decay, no healing cost...so the more the creature can miss the better!
We will make future videos talking about damage types, protection values, armor, armor plates and more but for now we wanted to cover the basics of how the defense actually function.
