after air grab near wall rather then eat it is better to set up a 2d and then you can either block and very easily punish any button they may press. Or do a slow action and have 2d cover it.

And then if they start respecting your 2d on wake up you can go for throw or fake going for throw and release 2d. If your throw hits you can convert to a combo without using the cute meter.
