ESRB and PEGI say Loot Boxes Aren't Gambling and Activision Patents Ways to Keep Us Spending
So the ESRB and PEGI have both come out and stated that Loot Boxes aren't gambling, which seems to be missing a more important point. Which is: are they harmful?
Meanwhile, Activision has issued a patent which is designed to match players in game so as to maximise the purchasing of microtransactions and loot boxes.
Can the gaming industry get any more cynical at this point?
