I flew my Estes Ascender 2-Stage using my homemade altimeter for dual deploy and sustainer ignition duties on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the ROSCO launch in Camden SC USA.
The booster was powered by an CTI F88-6 Smoky Sam and the sustainer by an Estes F15-P which was ignited electrically via my altimeter.

Of all the places on the bone dry sad field the sustainer had to land in a deep water puddle. I initially thought I would have to build a new sustainer but the damage to the paper tubing is hardly noticeable.
The stress on the rocket by using a G88 in the booster showed. A small area on the tubing compressed at the seam. Also one fin split at the glue joints, probably when it hit the ground on landing.
