Eternal Life in the Bible - What Does it Really Mean?
A polite examination of the scriptures. Job 38:3 "Grid up now thy loins like a man!" Contend for your faith...
What is the whole premise of the Christian faith? Christ died for your sins, he became the curse, so that you can be forgiven and obtain eternal life? We begin with the assumption
that after you die, there is either an eternity in hell, or meet Peter at the Pearly Gates and fly around in the clouds with the angels, praising God and playing your harp. For all eternity?
But, as they say, the Devil is in the details, and Satan is prosecutor in the court of Judgment. Mark 10:29-30 gives us the clearest example. Jesus is saying that everyone who gave up everything for him and the gospel will get hundreds of family members, homes, and fields in this age, and eternal life in the age to come. You really can't interpret this passage without reincarnation, the
faith and patience of the saints. He who lives by the sword must die by the sword, but many murderers got away with it, but if they are in future lives, the saying is proven true.
But what is this Eternal Life in the age to come, also called the ressurection? "For in the ressurection they do not marry, neither can they die anymore, for they are like onto the angels." Here is where the idea of going to heaven and getting your wings got started, but if you pay close attention that is for the world or age that to come.
