Today we spent more time on evaluating claims, particularly in the importance of looking at primary sources as much as possible, and realizing that secondary sources can lie to you, even when they come from a reputable source like the American Alliance of Museums. They can be as politically driven and irresponsible as the media.

Secondly, we started our conversation on invalid/valid/sound arguments today. It's a two step process:
1) Assume the premises are true. If they are, must the conclusion be true? If no, stop here and mark the argument as invalid.
2) If the argument is valid, then evaluate the premises and see if they're true. If they are, then mark the argument as "valid and sound". If either or both of them are not true, mark the argument as "valid but not sound".
