[errata: you need to wait till the freighter is at least 18m/s, will followup with better data later]
so one way, with webbing, takes 1 hour 20 minutes approx.
1) i have dueling ships visible on "stargate/travel" overview tab
2) i keep an eye out on the size of the next stargate on the route
3) i avoid giving the huggin a destination, and simply "add first waypoint"
4) i keep an eye out using 'manage route' using the freighter to help the huggin pilot
5) once jumped i approach the gate using the huggin if it's constellation/border size
6) i also activate the AB (usually just one cycle for constellation)
7) i watch the huggin while cloaked (after jumping) with freighter and initiate warp once the huggin is inside 40km
8) i left click the freighter on overview
9) i hit 'ctrl' hotkey to start targeting that highlighted overview item
10) i hit F5 and F6 to get the webs primed
11) the freighter then is in warp and selects info for next gate
12) huggin gets next waypoint and warps, setting "add first waypoint" and hits autopilot
13) huggin might need manual jumping if AP twitchy, once weapons timer ends
14) lather, rinse, repeat

i'm sure nirvana implants and a shield freighter would probably be better to survive any gank attacks.
