(note that missions no longer have any type of ore other than "cosmetic"; high sec anomalies totally suck btw)


this is me in a low sec belt with a rorqual and mackinaws and a DST just draining all ore from the asteroid belt 3.1
I may have some really bad news that i'll post another video tomorrow in the "ore regeneration" playlist. stay tuned for that.

i go into some chatter about my dreams of using a rorqual to mine asteroid belts in low sec...had that aspiration since i bought the rorq almost a decade ago. (probably around 2012? the ship was first introduced in 2007)
Basically, if i did venture far from a dock ring, i'd make damn sure i found an asteroid belt far from dscan range of stations/jumpgates (not many systems have that in low sec); i'd have a small control tower to online nearby so i could use the industrial core to compress, assuming i can't find a freeport compression service insystem; i'd make sure to have a scout on each ingate listening for gate flash, preferably a dead end system; i'd keep an eagle eye on the probe scanner for worm sign, obviously rolling any that were there (onsite megathrons permanently stations at NPC nearby); be ready to scoop drones and cloak up, or warp off using the nonrepeat wmd; have prospects mining to get the boosts.
Mainly the motivation for using a rorq would be compression...otherwise i'd go with porpoise, obviously.

does not include the 50k units of isotopes (enough for 2 max Ly jumps), and 7000 units of heavy water in fuel bay (enough for 7 cycles at my skill level - max)
also not included is the fuel blocks, stront, and small control tower (POS)
and the maintenance bay can easily fit a porpoise, occator, & 4 prospects with 10k m³ leftover...which means if could avoid using the rorq entirely and just have it hide in the pos...a much more palatable option if you ask me and one with which i'd go for with gusto.

cost at jita for ship is about 53m isk
lack of implants: the harvest implants aren't really needed since the miner 2 range is 24.38 w/o the harvest set, matching the targeting range, so i ripped out the implants just before snapping the screenshot.
