The attraction in spending 84m isk is that i can not only get the same value in cpu saved as investing in a bling shield hardener (a 'posse' would get me -17cpu), but that i avoid attracting undo attention from gankers wanting to cash in on a juicy blingy target...not that a semi-tanked orca in the back of beyond would attract any attention in the first place, but hey: always try to avoid being the low hanging fruit since there's always some dumbass blinged out without tank and skills near trade hubs.
oh, and the other bonus is that abyssal mods show up as 0 isk on killmails.

was it worth it? not really...i needed at least -18cpu.

edit 1: oh, and i was mentioning doing mutaplasmids on the cheap? that's because i was using decayed instead of unstable. (ancillary doesn't have any option for that)
edit 2: anyone else spot me yapping about capacitor/activation cost for an ancillary shield booster? lulz...me and caldari stuff don't mix.
