Only one week now until the release of Need for Speed Unbound, which will be the 23rd mainline NFS game on PC. Here you can see some gameplay from each of the games, showing the history and evolution of the franchise all the way from NFS 1 in 1994 to NFS Unbound in 2022 and also featuring some of the most iconic cars in many of the different games.

Need for Speed is probably the biggest racing game franchise in all of video games and it's the franchise that first got me into competitive play and into making videos.

More than 20 different NFS games have been released so far and there are various ways of grouping them. For me personally there are 3 different eras of NFS games.

The first era of NFS for me are the games from NFS 1 to NFS Hot Pursuit 2. In those classic games you did road races in a variety of locations using sports cars and supercars.

The second era of NFS for me are the games from NFS Underground to NFS Carbon. These games focus on underground street racing in big cities.

Finally we have all the remaining games from NFS ProStreet until today. These games are all over the place thematically but they have one thing in common, which is that the quality of the games just isn't quite a high anymore as it was in the first 10 games, although some of them can still be fun for a casual playthrough.

Now 3 years after the previous game we will get another entry with NFS Unbound and I am looking forward to discovering it next week. I will definitely make a number of videos about the game, including my usual guides for getting 3 stars at all the activities and maybe I will also do some live streams with multiplayer races, since Unbound will have a multiplayer mode on day 1, so definitely follow my channel if you are interested in the new game.

This video was mostly done around 6 weeks ago already but now thanks to the release of some clean NFS Unbound gameplay I was finally able to finish it. Hopefully people will enjoy this little look at the history of the franchise. :)
