1Felt comfortable enough to do runs on EXCEED difficulty, run went quite well aside of a bunch of mistakes. Though I feel my final boss fight went pretty poorly, but I did so well throughout everything else that it just didn't really matter. I still want to do another run while streaming sometime just to break the 30m mark. I might also play eXceed 3rd Jade Penetrate (Black Package) again, I have a hard TLB 1cc in that game. So I'd like to aim for EXCEED difficulty there as well.
It's really unfortunate this game isn't being sold or distributed anymore, as I find the gameplay quite enjoyable and the OST very fun to listen to. It's certainly one of my favourite game OST's out there.
As for the difficulty of this game-- I don't find it difficult once you get a route going on, there's so many tricks that trivialize stage sections and boss patterns, even ones that are rather ridiculous without. Though I think that's actually quite nifty about the game, there's more ways to doing a lot of things. I used to think I was quite poor at polarity shmups. I actually haven't really gotten anywhere in Ikaruga for that reason, however returning to this game after years (and apparently still having less playtime than 15 hours in total according to Steam) only to learn how to play it as quick as I did feels quite nice. Perhaps I should give Ikaruga a proper shot sometime as well.
