18All enemy aircraft in this title are made up of cubes, and when they are destroyed, they scatter a large number of small cubic debris. When your aircraft is hit by these fragments, it takes damage, but if you use a special attack called a "catapult" to blow the fragments away and hit the enemy, you can inflict massive damage on the enemy. This is an important technique for defeating hard enemies that are difficult to defeat with normal attacks such as lasers and rays, or many enemy aircraft at once.
In other words, it is not just about simply destroying enemy aircraft, but how to strategically create debris and apply it to the enemy to kick them out. This is the basic play style of "exception".
In addition to the five stages in the original indie version, two new stages are added to the arcade version. The bosses at the end of the stages are also newly designed for the additional stages, so even those who have played the indie version will be able to play the game with a new feeling. The difficulty of existing stages has also been adjusted to make them easier to play.
The arcade version offers an easier-than-usual Practice Mode for those who are not good at shooting. Practice Mode differs from Normal Mode in the following ways
The game is over when stage 3 is cleared.
Life recovery speed is twice as fast as normal.
Catapult gauge increases 3 times faster than normal.
Score ranking is not counted.
In this game, there are three types of firepower: lasers that concentrate firepower in one direction, rays that wipe out surrounding enemies with their tracking projectiles, and catapults that blow away enemies within a certain range.
The catapult blows away enemies within a certain range. The aim is to clear all stages by making full use of these four actions.
The controls are for the 3-button type.
In the this version, you can select either 2-button or 3-button type at the start of the game. Until you get used to the game, it is better to use the 2-button type, which is easier to control; with the 2-button type, if you do not press the A button, the game automatically locks on to surrounding enemies, and if you press the A button, the game fires lasers and rays.
