17Just like Blood Bros. Players can also destroy large parts of the background; barrels, glass bottles, stalagmites, bridges, tipi's and even entire buildings can be leveled.
When the enemy gauge at the bottom of the screen is empty (all bullets are gone) the level is completed and any remaining buildings will collapse by themselves.
Enemies come in the form of mafia gangsters, either on foot or on a vehicles. Moto riders needs to be shot twice to be eliminated.
The gameplay is broken up in 4 level with 4 screens each. Stage 5 in this game is just one level and two bosses. At the end of each normal level players must fight an end boss.
At beginning of every stage you can hear part of "The Godfather Finale" by Nino Rota converted for the pcb sound chip, without authorization of course.
Players have unlimited ammo but a limited amount of grenades. Grenades can be replenished by shooting incoming dynamites, certain figures in the background or the fedora laying on the ground. Shooting black rats, which appear occasionally, drops a powerful weapon for a temporary boost in fire power.
The game supports two players co-op.
